Unai Emery asked Arsenal players to vote for club captain, says Rob Holding

Unai Emery requested Arsenal gamers to vote for their captain, defender Rob Holding is now shown.
Emery introduced a pool of five skippers after his appointment but watched his choices decimated by summer time departures of both Laurent Koscielny, Petr Cech and Aaron Ramsey.
Granit Xhaka has so far worn out the armband in the Premier League this word but is yet to convince in the function and was jeered by his own fans during last weekend’s win over Aston Villa, while Mesut Ozil is the only other member of the initial five still at the club.
Holding, who captained the side following Ozil was substituted during their 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the Carabao Cup, has revealed the Arsenal boss ran a survey of their dressing room to determine who receives the armband.
“He enjoys his five captains. We all did a vote the other week so we’ll find out what happens and determine who has called,” Holding said.
“It was merely a situation of writing down names and then giving them to the manager and he will go through them – obviously with his input – and we will see what happens.
“I don’t have any idea [if an announcement will likely be made], however there is a great deal of leaders in that team who are helping each other out and pushing each other on.
“Now we’ve got these five captains that the manager has earned it is spreading the leadership group rather than having one individual to dictate it. You are getting more input, it’s creating a fantastic environment.”
While he was reluctant to show his choice of skipper, Holding described Xhaka as”a excellent leader” and praised the effect of experienced summer enrolling David Luiz.
“I like Granit from the living area. I believe he is wonderful. He’s really switched on to people people using the telephones. He’s quick to dish out the penalties,” Holding additional.
“I believe he is a great leader and another positive person to have in the living area.
“He’s quite demanding and also makes demands of us. He places accountability on ourselves, which can be important as a pioneer.”
Asked if Arsenal have more leaders than critics think, Holding said:”As an example. You may view it in practice. The way David Luiz comes and he speaks well, when he’s talking before the group.
“He speaks highly people he’s a great addition to earn.”
Holding marked his return in the nine-month accident lay-off after shooting the armband out of Ozil on Tuesday by just seconds, and the 24-year-old has aspirations of performing the role again.
“I would like to become a captain along with being captain of Arsenal is unbelievable. It’d be a great feeling,” he said.
“We’ll see what happens in the next couple of weeks. When I get that, then I will be more than happy and honoured to do it.”
